Rockhounding in the Ochoco forest with Oldpa!

Oldpa has made it known that he wanted to rockhound with his littlest granddaughter. Well, one more check off of his bucket list! :) We drove up close to the same place we went to last year to try and find some sweet rocks. You'll have to ask him for the proper name of these rocks since I can't seem to remember. Bob, Alex and Sophie came rock hunting too and we had a good time! It was hot... and Howie and I managed to pop a tire on our truck. Not such a good time.

Cultus Lake, Lava Cast Forest and Lava River Cave

Phew! Well, where to begin this post? One day we all went to Cultus Lake to relax, play in the water and soak in the sun while Dale, Jeanie, Gage, Ashton and Oldma went on a mountain bike ride. We were there (Oldpa, Howie, Makenna, Kinsley and I) much longer than expected since the trail kicked Oldma's butt! We had fun while waiting though. :)

 Oldpa, Kinsley and I didn't go into the Lava River Cave with everyone else. It looks like they all had a great time though! I'm hoping that if we go to Bend next year then Kinsley and I will be able to check it out. :)

Exhausting but Perfect.

It was Makenna and Kinsley's first time to Crater Lake and it has been years since I have been so it felt very new to me as well. The weather couldn't have been more perfect! It was warm and sunny and very crowded.. Weird, huh? :)

Beginning of our Bend trip!

The end of July we headed to Bend, OR for our yearly birthday trip! We had such an incredible time last year that we all decided that Bend would be the perfect destination for our 2012 trip. We arrived on Saturday the 28th and stayed until the following Saturday. We had a blast! The first couple of days we were there we relaxed and celebrated our birthday (Jeanie, Oldpa and me) with bacon wrapped filet mignon, lot of delicious sides and three cakes for dessert! Oh, and Kinsley tried rice cereal for the first time!
