Smearing spaghetti is fun

Makenna had her first taste of messy spaghetti! She seemed to enjoy the taste but I think she enjoyed smearing it all over her tray rather than eating it. That's our Punkin'!

Hello? Hello?

When Howie left for California for 4 days, Makenna "talked" on the phone with daddy a few times a day. She has really gotten the hang of it! Give her a phone, it's up to her ear. Extremely cute! I just have to share the adorable photos!

A love-hate relationship

Our dog Belle is 6 years old. She had quite a shock when we brought Makenna home from the hospital, being ignored and all. Well, Belle doesn't tolerate Makenna very well. Everytime Makenna gets near her... Belle takes off to the other side of the room. I feel bad for Makenna! She just wants to love (yank on her ears, smack her in the face) on Belle. I think we've reached a milestone in their relationship...... Makenna was stoked.

Big fun!

Makenna has learned how to pull every inch of the toilet paper off of the roll. Lucky for me, the roll wasn't freshly put on.... Everytime I go into the bathroom now she goes straight for the roll. Silly girl!

Glimpse into the future

Howie went down to California to help my dad and stepmom do some finish work on the house they're building so Makenna and I went to my mom's yesterday for lunch. Makenna was able to experience her first taste of Udon (Japanese Noodles)! She wasn't a huge fan but we'll keep working on it. She WILL be a fan of Japanese food when she gets older. ;)

After lunch my mom, my sister, Makenna and I went over to my brother's house so my mom could babysit my nephew and niece. Makenna and and my neice Sophie are 4 months apart but since Makenna is a tank, they are pretty much the same size. Well, Sophie has her "snugglie" that she never lets go of. She offered it to me and I happily took it from her. Makenna decided that she wanted to have it and took it from me. Sophie was NOT impressed.

She squealed and it was the beginning of tug-o-war....
After some pulling back and forth, Sophie won the battle....
Until Makenna decided to play with my camera case.... Sophie decided she wanted that too!

It's all fun and games between the two of them though. I can only imagine how much more escalated the tug-o-war is going to get when they get older. We're going to have to pull them off of each other. I can't wait. ;)

Cherry Puffs

MMMM... Now that Makenna is learning to eat food other than pureed stuff, we've been giving her Gerber cherry puffs. They are similar to Cherios but have a better flavor and dissolve a little faster. They're a little big for her to eat in one piece so I've been breaking them up so she won't choke. Well, she's been learning to pick them up with her thumb and first finger and put them in her mouth. Too cute for words. I was cooking breakfast this morning and when I looked over at her she must have missed her mouth cause they were stuck on her face! I had to take some pics... what a ham!
